HIDDEN TREASURES Part 2 Yin

We all know how beneficial the deep stretching of yin yoga can be, but many of us find it difficult to get into the daily habit of yin. We put this series together to hopefully make stretching a no-brainer habit for you! Start with just 15 mins a day, progressing to 20, 30, then 45 […]

Hidden Treasures

For many of us, nothing beats the classic 60-minute vigorous power yoga flow experience. We put together this series to rediscover and cherish some of our favorite all levels power yoga classes that are sometimes forgotten as they’re all stand-alone practices and not part of any original programs or series – true hidden treasures! Root to Rise From the Ground Up

Welcome to Root to Rise: From the Ground Up. Is your movement practice restricting you? Or expanding your concept of how your body can move? You were designed to move. Alignment is happening all the time. This anatomy-focused 7-part series highlights movement, mobility, stability and strength for different areas of our body starting from the ground […]

Toes to Knees

Our focus will be about grounding, emphasizing movement in our toes, feet, ankle dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, knee extension and flexion. The foot is a complex mechanical structure of the human body composed of 33 joints, 26 bones, and more than 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments that all work together to bear weight, allow for locomotion, […]

Walk this Way

The hip flexors are a group of muscles, the iliacus, psoas major muscles, and the rectus femoris, which is a part of your quadriceps. Every time you take a step, you are using your hip flexor muscles. We need to use our muscles (hip flexors & glutes) to give us the ability to propel and […]

Green Eggs & Hammies

Do you know you have THREE hamstrings? An no green eggs, obviously. Hamstring muscle injuries are the most common sports injury. In yoga, outside of your typical hamstring tightness, you […]

Move Your Hips Part 1

Ahhh the hips. We have such a love/hate relationship with our hips. In this 30 minute practice we’ll focus on internal and external rotation, along with hip flexion and extension. Explore some new mobility movements along with more hip awareness in some familiar yoga asanas.

Move Your Hips Part 2

This 30 minute practice will move along our frontal plane focusing on the actions of hip abduction (movement away from the midline) and adduction (movement towards the midline). Movement in adduction and abduction can help you build strength, mobility, and stability. Let’s strengthen your outer hips!

Refine Your Spine

Let’s explore the many ways your spine moves: thoracic rotation, forward and lateral flexion, and extension. We’ll work on spinal segmentation and even learn how to use our transverse abdominals to keep from our lower back from taking on too much strain in poses.
