The hip flexors are a group of muscles, the iliacus, psoas major muscles, and the rectus femoris, which is a part of your quadriceps. Every time you take a step, you are using your hip flexor muscles. We need to use our muscles (hip flexors & glutes) to give us the ability to propel and move forward, but we also need them to slow us down with control. In yoga, we tend to over-stretch and never work on controlled kicking actions in our legs. Hip flexors are short and weak and our glutes are long and weak. This 30 minute practice, we’ll work on those areas of our body….so hope you’ll “get the swing of it”
The best class ever after a long run, thank you 🙂
Thank you so much! this was exactly what I needed, and what a fun flow 🙂
What a wonderful class! My lower body feels so free. Love that both flexibility and stability is included here, with a focus on quads and hip flexors to boot. Jenny’s instruction is top notch.
Absolutely in love with this mini series!
