PRACTICAL ANATOMY TRAINING (10 Hrs)

This 10-hour training is for students and teachers who are looking to deepen their understanding of biomechanics as it relates to yoga asana. In this training, together, we will flow through a variety of lectures, workshops on each of the kramas as well as the most common postures, and a final masterclass that incorporates simple and diverse cueing. By the end of this training you will have gained many teaching tools, techniques, and habits to aid you in your practice and your journey on, and off of your mat.

Part 6 of the online 300 hour Holistic Yoga Flow (HYF) Practical Anatomy constitutes 10 hours’ worth of training and includes 12 Lectures, 12 Posture Tutorials, and 1 Masterclass, an in-depth manual and access to our exclusive private HYF Community Group. Upon completion, you will receive a 10 hour HYF Yoga Advanced Asana certificate authorized by Inner Dimension Academy.

12 Posture Workshops

Over the course of these workshops we will breakdown postures krama by krama, as well as taking a deeper look into some of the most common postures, including a few inversions and arm balances, all based off of the Holistic Yoga Flow Teacher Training Manual. We will also move through a self-myofascial release session, meant to specifically target the most common areas of tension in the human body. Remember to breathe fully and deeply, with an open heart and an open mind.

12 Lectures

The goal of these lectures are to provide each practitioner with a comprehensive understanding of what is biomechanically happening in the body as we hold, move, and transition from posture to posture, and shape to shape. Not only will these lectures cover kinesiology in a practical and applicable manner, but they will also cover a variety of useful topics such as: common imbalances in the human body, the importance of healthy breathing + five practices to support your breathing, the importance of nutrition, hydration, and rest, as well as reflexive antagonism. Remember, true wisdom comes not just from listening, watching, and reading, but rather the daily application and integration of the absorbed knowledge.

MYCHAL PRIETO
Mychal Prieto is an ex-collegiate athlete with an education in Kinesiology & Exercise Science. Mychal has been a Functional Strength coach since 2011, Certified Strong First Instructor since 2014, and began teaching yoga after completing his 200-hour Holistic Yoga Flow teacher training with Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom. Mychal works with private clients, a plethora of celebrities, & major corporations helping his students to increase strength, mobility, body-awareness, and self-confidence through conscious movement focusing on form and technique. In addition to his 10+ years of experience training with Kettlebells, Mychal is also a certified TRX and Animal Flow instructor.
