Inner Reflections

A lot of us look to others to understand whether or not we’re good enough. We hold ourselves up to the standards of those around us, seeking reassurance that we’re valued, and worthy of being valued.

It’s easier to measure ourselves against external criteria. It means we don’t have to decide what is good, what is worthy, what is valued—others decide for us, and we just have to try and meet those criteria. It absolves us of the responsibility to understand our values, ourselves, and our Higher Selves.

But the truth is that only one set of standards truly matter for us…

Our own.

And there’s only one person we should seek to be valued by…

Our Selves.

Understanding this liberates us from the pressure to be good enough by other people’s standards. It liberates us from superficial measures of success. Intimately knowing and respecting your own personal values empowers you to prioritize becoming the best version of yourself.

Basing our journey in love and compassion, for ourselves and for others, empowers us to be our own best friend, our own best supporter. It can be just as easy to ask too much of yourself, or be too hard on yourself, when living according to your own internal standards. But knowing that you’re trying to be your best Self, and having compassion for both the successes and the growth moments, is all you need in order to know that you are doing enough.

We can only ever ask of ourselves that we do our best. 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝, 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝.

There is no external standard that you need to meet, there is no one else you need to measure yourself by. Simply doing your best to live authentically, in line with your own values, with love and compassion, is good enough.

Below are some recommended practices to help you remember that you are always enough:
